If you have questions, please email Stephanie Palazzo.
As I mentioned in the August pack meeting, we’re kicking off the recharter process early this year to give families additional time to pay the 2023 annual dues ($182). Below is some additional information on how the dues are calculated and what they go towards. Please let our Pack Treasurer know if you have any questions. ALL RETURNING SCOUTS: Membership fees are paid annually, so in the fall of 2022 you’ll pay for the entire 2023 calendar year. Payment is due by 11/15/2022. 2023 fees will be $182 which go towards the following: $75 goes to BSA for Insurance and use of Scoutbook.
TWO EXCEPTIONS to the above: Webelo 2's & any new Scout (if you're joining in the fall), see below: WEBELO 2's: Congratulations, you'll be crossing over in 2023, which means your dues will be reduced since you will only be in the pack for 2 months of 2023. NOTE: Limit of $300 of product at one time - Starter Kit equal $300. Welcome to another year with Pack 895! Thank you for sharing your family with us. If you’re new to scouting, you may still be wondering what this is all about. First and foremost, my number one priority for you and your scouts is to HAVE FUN! We have lots of exciting adventures planned this year, and along the way we hope to accomplish the four Aims of Scouting: Character, Citizenship, Fitness, and Leadership. We start with instilling personal values in our scouts by first demonstrating these character-building qualities as leaders. Next, we help our scouts build meaningful relationships and learn responsible behaviors in the community. As our scouts continue to participate in the various den and pack activities they will grow in physical, mental, and emotional fitness. And finally, as our scouts gain experience, they will have opportunities to see and practice effective leadership. All the while we will keep the primary goal in mind…to have fun! I’m excited to be back together again to start another year of fun adventures. Thank you for being a part of Pack 895!
Your Cubmaster, Bryan McCarty Pack 895, Cub Master WHAT’S WITH THE SCOUT LINGO?
Does it ever feel sometimes though that Cub Scouts and Scouts BSA (for ages 11-17. Formerly known as Boy Scouts) have their own language? Are we a Pack or a Troop? What is a Den? How do Ranks work? When you first join scouting, it can be overwhelming but even taking a break over the summer some of these words can be out of ear shot and out of mind! So, one of our epic den Leaders for the Wolves, Luke Prettol, reminded me that a refresher of our Lingo is always a good idea: Thanks Luke and thank you for this list! SCOUT LINGO:
