Greetings from your Cubmaster! Our next point in the Scout Law is a scout is thrifty. The definition of thrifty is using resources carefully and not wastefully, and I think one of our most precious resources is time. We only have a limited amount of time with our kids, and you can't get time back once it's gone. I encourage you to use your time wisely to make the most of these precious years in your family. Scouting is a great way to spend your time with fun and meaningful experiences together. Thank you for spending your time with Pack 895!
Regards, Bryan McCarty Cub Master, Pack 895 After seeing our Webelo 2’s crossover to the Troop it really reminded me our role as parents in the Pack.
My oldest became a Boy Scout and he went from needing me a ton to “I’m a man” mom and out on his own. During the Cub Scout years our kids need us. They need us to show them the way, set examples and have fun with them. The experiences they have with us during these (short) five years help set them up for independence, responsibility and grow confidence. While they are little now, it seems scary for us to let them go but with Cub Scouts we have a natural and slow progression (and sometimes it feels realllllly slow). This is good for all of us! When you walk with them through scouts you are doing more than you think. It’s why we say this is “Family Scouting” because you are actively participating and showing your child that the Cub Scout Values are values you endorse and know that your scout can grow into. Our Den leaders are epic but no one inspires your kiddo more than You! This is the most influential time in your child’s life and scouting is a great way to help you maximize it. Keep being awesome parents because you are doing Great! With Much Love! Jessica McCarty Pack 895, Committee Chair |
