Lots of changes are taking effect around us as we head back to school, welcome new families to the pack, form new dens, start popcorn fundraising, and kick off our full program for the scouting year all while we are still dealing with COVID. My commitment to you through all of the changes and uncertainties is to keep our focus on making scouting both a FUN and SAFE activity for you and our kids. As we continue to learn the points of the Scout Law together, last month we talked about the opportunity for us to demonstrate what it means for a scout to be Trustworthy. The next two points of the Scout Law that we can reinforce as parents are a scout is Loyal and Helpful. I think these values are complimentary in how we should aim to treat one another. Let’s all look for ways to actively support each other and take extra steps to help those around us whether by simply opening a door or making a much larger sacrifice to help someone in need. I think you will find that you are blessed as a helper even more than the individual you are helping! Thank you for your commitment to scouting and for your support of Pack 895. Regards, Bryan McCarty Pack 895, Cub Master

In July we participated in the South County 4th of July parade and won for best youth entry! The prize was $100. As if that wasn’t awesome enough, we also were awarded an extra $200 for parking lot cleanup following the parade. Way to represent Pack 895! July was otherwise a quiet month. Our spending was focused on preparing for the coming year. The committee members approved the purchase of marketing materials such as postcards and reusable banners to be used for recruiting events.
Just a reminder – if you’d like to turn in money in between pack meetings for things like dues, pack t-shirts, popcorn, campout, etc., you can always Venmo it to Pack EightNineFive @TXPack895. Please make sure your description includes the scout's name and the reason for the payment. That's my 2 Cents! Nicki Prettol Pack 895, Treasurer The Cub Scouts have two types of uniforms. Class A means full dress uniform, which includes: Blue Cub Scout Shirt (Brown for Webelos if they choose) with a rank neckerchief, rank slide, Cub Scout belt, and optional rank hat, as well as BSA shorts/pants or socks. You are welcome to use your own blue or brown shorts/pants to save some money. This uniform is worn for all Pack Meetings and other special events such as opening and closing of Pack 895 Campouts for the flag ceremonies. Class B uniforms are the official Pack 895 t-shirt. This is purchased (for $16) when you join Cub Scouts. Ask any adult leader how you can purchase one. This is worn for every other event: den meetings, outings, service projects, space derby, rain gutter regatta, etc. You will always be told which uniform to wear to our scouting events. Now you know what’s the difference between Class A & Class B. Yours in Scouting
